SLAYER

Slayer é uma banda de thrash metal estado-unidense, fundada pelos guitarristas Jeff Hanneman e Kerry King, em 1981. Slayer ficou famoso como um dos líderes do movimento americano thrash metal com o lançamento de 1986, Reign in Blood, que foi chamado de "o álbum mais pesado de todos os tempos" pela revista Kerrang!. A banda é creditada como uma das "quatro grandes" bandas de thrash metal, juntamente com Anthrax, Megadeth e Metallica.
O Slayer é conhecida pelas suas características musicais, envolvendo rápido tremolo picking, solos de guitarra, bateria com bumbo duplo, e vocais gritados. As letras da banda e arte dos álbuns—que abrangem temas como a morte, genocídio, necrofilia, loucura, religião, serial killers, e guerra tem gerado atrasos, proibições, ações judiciais e fortes críticas por parte de grupos religiosos e ao público em geral.
Desde a sua gravação de estreia em 1983, a banda lançou dois álbuns ao vivo, um box set, três DVDs, um VHS, dois EP, e dez álbuns, quatro dos quais já receberam certificação de ouro nos Estados Unidos. A banda já recebeu três indicações para o Grammy, vencedo em 2007 com a canção "Eyes of the Insane", e em 2008 com a canção "Final Six". Eles têm participado de festivais em todo o mundo, incluindo Ozzfest e The Unholy Alliance.
